 What does the role of production designer entail?
Production Designers are responsible for creating and managing the visual aspects of a film, television or theatre production. They work closely with the Director and Producer to create the design style for aspects such as sets, graphics, props, lighting and costumes.

During a production, what other members does the production designer co-ordinate with?
Production designers are responsible for the visual concept of a film, television or theatre production. They identify a design style for sets, locations, graphics, props, lighting, camera angles and costumes, while working closely with the director and producer.

What issues can occur for a production designer?
       If the visual aspects of the show goes wrong then it is up to the production designer to get it fixed. 

       What skills, education, experience and training are beneficial for a production designer to have
  • Working knowledge of the visual arts and production processes and theories.
  • Sketching ability, and ability to communicate ideas through drawings and models.
  • Ability to solve problems and be resourceful and adaptable.
  • Ability to plan, schedule and monitor progress across of a large project.

    The post I uploaded to insight last week provided you with all the powerpoints you need to complete any missing posts.
    Regardless of that fact that you've been set cover for 4 out of 9 of your timetabled lessons, I expected to see much more work on here - each lesson you have been provided with appropriate materials.

    We will discuss this further.
