1: Identify two costs that you may need to consider when developing a new phone app and explain how these costs impact on the project?(6)

One cost when developing a new app is you will need to buy a graphic designer to design the app. this would impact the costs of the project as they are very expensive and time consuming to get the correct designer for you. Another cost that you may need to consider would be to consider would be to copy right or patent the design of the app so no one can copy it. this is expensive for the company designing the app as it will make sure you are protected from people trying to steal your idea. This will impact the project as it will make it very expensive and the company may not have have the funding to finish it and would be very time consuming for the company producing the project.

2: Identify one act of legislation that is applicable to the creation of a new national newspaper and explain what impact it has?(3)

One act of legislation is the data protection act. this is because when  a journalist is writing an article in a newspaper, they have to be carful what data they put in so they don't expose the data of the customer. If exposed, they can file a lawsuit against them.

3: You have been offered a job as an apprentice for a company called Align Media. When they offered you the apprenticeship, you were required to sign a form giving the intellectual property rights of any work you produce to Align Media. Explain why you were required to sign this form?(3)

I am required to sign this form as any ideas that I come up with for  a new project is Align Media's property and not mine. this means that I can't take them to court for using my idea so they are protected from any legal battles with me over the idea. This would allow Align Media to take more risks with an apprentice as they have control over your ideas.

5: Identify two ethical issues that you need to consider before your team develops ideas for a documentary on refugees. Explain how these will have an impact on the project?(8)

One ethical issue is you could ask them to sign a consent form to be shown on television as they may have injuries or feel embarrassed about being in the refugee camps. this would impact the project as it would be very expensive for the media company to print off hundreds of signs for the refugees to sign. therefore the cost of the project will increase drastically as the printing budget would increase. this would lead to the project being more time consuming as they will have to get consent from everyone they want to film.
Another issue is the employees may be affected by the very graphic images that is shown of the refugees and you would have to consider if the language of others may upset them and may be considered to be racist towards anyone affected.Therefore, you would have to carry out background checks of all individuals beforehand to make sure nobody will become upset.
